Welcome to Gretna Homeschool Co-Op! Where homeschool families can consistently connect, learn, and grow together.
Gretna Homeschoolers is a seasonal group that offers a family-style co-op with nature-based activities. We meet for 15-week sessions in the Spring and Fall, as well as a short summer season. Families enjoy Backyard Hangouts, Family Nature walks, Garden Days, Field Trips, Observatory Nights, and so much more.
Our group is made up of families who share a deep commitment to educating our children with reason and loving kindness. We strive to create a space where everyone feels welcome, where ideas can be shared freely, and where children can learn through laughter, exploration, and creativity. While parents remain the primary educators in their children's lives, we strive to nurture a love of learning in every child and grow strong relationships between families who walk this homeschool journey together. What began in a backyard with 3 families for low income, one income, and Military families, has grown to over 145 students and over 35 families who have connected along the way since 2023.

Join our co-op and other homeschoolers at the Terrytown Library for Homeschool Hour and other activities around town, such as our volunteer clean-ups and free Spring Book Swap!
These are free and open to the public!
